USE OF DISTANCE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES IN ATHLETICS: BARRIERS AND OPPORTUNITIES

An analysis of the problem of using distance learning technologies in the activity of sports coaches is presented. Aim is to establish the possibilities of implementing remote learning technologies in athletics. Methods. The selection of research methods was determined by its theoretical essence. To achieve the goal, theoretical methods of pedagogical research were applied. Results. The key problems in the way of using distance learning technologies in the training of track and field athletes are identified. Opportunities are presented that allow to qualitatively modify the training process of track and field athletes. An understanding of distance learning in athletics as a separate technological direction of building the training process is proposed. In general, the remote format of building the training process of track and field athletes is focused on the involvement of a wide range of information and communication technologies (ICT). However, their use should be determined by the availability of the selected means for participants in the training process in athletics. Discussion. Despite the relevance of distance learning, the issue of developing full-fledged training programs for track and field athletes is only at the stage of discussion. This is due to the difficulty of organizing the practical part of the training, especially in complex types of athletics. However, focusing on the possibilities of distance learning technologies, it seems possible to develop effective strategies for the organization and implementation of individual components of the training process of track and field athletes. Conclusions. The conducted research focused on the prospects of modifying the training of track and field athletes in a distance format. The obtained results deepen the understanding of the possibilities of improving the training process in athletics. Such an approach will allow to increase the technology of the training process of athletes. However, the conditions for the implementation of distance learning technologies in the training of track and field athletes require further study.
