MODERN TECHNOLOGIES FOR FORMING RESEARCH SKILLS IN THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE DESIGNERS

The article provides a theoretical understanding of the problem of developing research skills in future designers in the context of the transformation of modern design education. The changing role of the designer in the conditions of digital culture and creative industries is actualized: from the performer of visual solutions to the researcher, analyst, and mediator between content, form and socio-cultural context. It is substantiated that research skills are a component of the designer's professional competence and determine the quality of design solutions in situations of uncertainty, complex communicative and cultural challenges. Modern scientific approaches to understanding research activities in design are analyzed, in particular, the concepts of design thinking, research through design, constructive alignment, as well as the role of reflective competence and metacognitive processes in the professional development of a designer. The limitations of traditional educational models that reduce research to an auxiliary stage of design and do not ensure the integration of analytical, creative, and visual thinking are revealed. The focus is on the analysis of innovative educational strategies: problem-based, project-based learning, interdisciplinary approaches, reflective portfolio, as well as the use of digital and visual research methods (ethnographic, semiotic, content and visual research, prototyping and testing). The potential and methodological risks of their implementation in the educational process are outlined. The feasibility of considering the designer's research skills as an integral competence that combines cognitive metacognitive, and cultural-philosophical dimensions is proven. Directions for improving the professional training of future designers in the higher education system are formulated, and prospects for further research related to assessing the validity of design research and the impact of digital environments on the transformation of design thinking are identified.
