OUTDOOR GAMES IN THE SYSTEM OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING OF STUDENTS OF SPECIALTY 017 PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORTS

Abstract

"Outdoor Games" is an academic discipline that forms part of the core component of the educational curriculum for specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports." It is studied in the second year of the bachelor's degree program. This discipline is essential in the professional training system for physical education teachers and sports coaches, as active games are used as both primary and supplementary tools in educational, training, and health-recreational processes. The concept of the " Outdoor Games" course is based on a systematic presentation of material aimed at developing students’ knowledge and skills in selecting, organizing, and conducting active games for different age groups in both curricular and extracurricular formats. It also contributes to students' development as future professionals in the field. According to the requirements of the educational and professional program for the specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports," upon completion of the course, students acquire general, professional, and program-specific competencies. The course program is structured into three content modules, the study of which involves both classroom-based and independent work. The consolidation and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained during the course are further developed in senior years through sport-pedagogical disciplines, practical training, and while preparing course and diploma projects. Depending on the format of instruction, different teaching methods are applied. In both in-person and online classes, verbal, practical, and express-assessment methods were used, differing in content. Visual, creative, and problem-based inquiry methods were applied exclusively in the online format. Upon completing the " Outdoor Games" course, students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills that they will apply in their future professional activities.
