LIFESTYLE AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AS A BEHAVIORAL PROBLEM

High blood pressure is a leading risk factor in terms of its impact on the health, duration, and quality of life of people worldwide. The high prevalence of this pathological condition and its consequences among different age groups requires the search and implementation of effective preventive measures. Analysis of scientific research shows that the cause of about 70% of cardiovascular diseases is a relatively small number of factors that can be influenced. One of the most effective ways to prevent high blood pressure is primary prevention, which is based on changing people's behavior and lifestyle. Thus, the solution to the problem is moved to the plane of correction of behavioral factors, acquiring a pedagogical context. The purpose of our study is to consider the problem of high blood pressure and ways to solve it from the perspective of the possibilities of education and upbringing. A strategy based only on informing about health factors (risk factors) does not always give the expected result. In addition to theoretical knowledge, motivation, decision-making and implementation skills, and the practice of using healthcare products are important. The key task of health education is forming a value-based attitude towards health, emphasizing positive values, ideals, and motives, such as the disclosure of one's abilities, self-realization, social status, family relationships, children, etc. The pedagogical model of the formation of health-oriented behavior involves mastering the necessary base of theoretical and practical knowledge that contributes to changes in attitudes toward health, the creation of appropriate motivation, awareness of one's own responsibility for one's health, and the search for and use of means of recovery. Gaining one's own experience opens up opportunities for creativity in the process of planning and implementing an individual health program. The practice of a healthy lifestyle is not limited only to the health effects but becomes a powerful tool for the spiritual development of a person as an individual.
