LITERARY STUDIES PRECONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF INTERMEDIAL ANALYSIS IN UKRAINIAN LITERATURE LESSONS

Abstract

The article explores the theoretical and methodological foundations of using intermedial analysis in Ukrainian literature lessons. The author describes and analyzes the scientific works of foreign and Ukrainian researchers on intermediality and inter-artistic interaction and identifies the application of intermedial analysis in studying artistic works and commonalities and differences in the scholarsʼ scientific claims. Based on this, the author reveals the significance of the concepts of «intermediality» and «intermedial analysis» in the context of studying artistic works and clarifies that «intermediality» combines various artistic forms within one work. In contrast, «intermedial analysis» is a method or strategy for exploring these connections. The article touches upon the theoretical aspects of intermediality and the peculiarities of studying artistic works through intermedial analysis. The article demonstrates the feasibility of applying intermedial analysis in Ukrainian literature lessons. Emphasis is based on the fact that intermedial analysis helps reveal the complexity and uniqueness of art, which skillfully combines various forms and cultural aspects in a unified perception space, utilizing visual, auditory, and textual components. The intermedial analysis becomes a crucial tool for understanding the common language of art and a deep understanding of cultural manifestations through their interaction in different media forms. Intermedial analysis in literary education is necessary to prepare the younger generation for the complex challenges of the modern world. Its use in literature classes allows students to perceive literature as a multidimensional phenomenon. The intermedial analysis contributes to a deeper understanding of literary works through their connections with other media. It stimulates the development of students' critical thinking, creative abilities, and analytical skills, opening up possibilities for an innovative perception of the world and its place in it. The article emphasizes that using intermedial analysis in Ukrainian literature lessons will help teachers improve education quality, make studying artistic works more exciting and compelling, and enhance students' understanding of inter-artistic interactions and the impact of these connections on literature comprehension.
