The visual arts of Ancient civilizations were influenced by the polytheistic theosophical aspects of their religion. The characteristic features of the latter were: a large number of divine substances, which did not differ in any way from ordinary people, with the exception of only the divine hypertrophied-muscular physicality, which was marked by perfection and to which every Ancient Hellen aspired, following the ancient Greek aesthetic principle ― kalokagatia, which was practiced and Celestials from Olympus. Therefore, the artists who worked on marble tried to best convey the divine aesthetics of perfect physicality not only of heavenly beings, but also of ordinary athletes and heroes of ancient Greece and Rome. Sculptors of that time breathed realistic features into inanimate stone material, conveying human emotions, which made their masterpieces as close as possible to living beings. The history of the formation of Ancient fine art, with full confidence, can be called the pedagogy of ancient Greek existence. The key nuance of this pedagogy was the glorification of human physicality, which was formed in the divine image. The material of this article is the result of the analysis of scientific and methodological literature, which allowed us to distinguish the evolutionary periods of the development of Greek and Roman sports sculpture from the archaic period to the beginning of our era. The information in this post can be used as non-traditional forms of studying the topics of physical culture of Ancient Greece and Rome in the discipline "History of Physical Culture". Each individual sculpture, or sculptural complex, which depicts the heroes and winners of the competitions of the ancient Olympic quadrennial, has its own and unique history, which ancient sculptors tried to preserve for posterity in an artistic masterpiece. nd studying the cultural artifacts of that era, we recreate: firstly, the atmosphere of Ancient Agonism; secondly, we note the high skill of the sculptors in terms of the realism of the depiction of human physicality, and thirdly, we try to implement the aesthetic principles of learning from the Ancient period into our pedagogy.
