FORMATION OF CREATIVITY AS A LEADING SOFT SKILL OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS

Abstract

The article addresses the issue of developing creativity as a key soft skill in the training of future physical education teachers. The authors emphasize that modern society, rapidly transforming under the influence of globalization and technological challenges, requires specialists who can think unconventionally, adapt quickly, and develop innovative approaches to the educational process. Creativity is understood as a complex integration of imagination, flexibility, and problem-solving ability, which fosters not only the professional growth of teachers but also the creative development of students. Based on an analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observations, surveys, and experimental data, it is proven that integrating creative approaches into educational programs enhances student motivation, independence, critical thinking, and teamwork. Special attention is given to the educational program “Secondary Education (Physical Culture)” at T.H. Shevchenko Chernihiv Collegium, which includes the course “Creative Approaches to the Physical Education Lesson.” A pedagogical experiment conducted with fourth-year students demonstrated a significant increase in creativity levels in the experimental group, which was taught using innovative methods, compared to minimal progress in the control group, which was taught traditionally. The findings confirm the effectiveness of the proposed system for developing creativity, which is based on interactive methods, creative learning environments, and active student engagement. The study concludes that creativity should be considered a necessary condition for the professional preparation of physical education teachers, as it ensures readiness to implement the principles of the New Ukrainian School and to carry out effective pedagogical activities in a constantly changing environment.
