DEVELOPMENT OF PHD STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC CULTURE IN THE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL SPACE OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS UNDER MARTIAL LAW

Abstract

The article outlines the experience of the project groups of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko (SumSPU) in developing the academic culture of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates in the field of education under martial law in Ukraine, effective approaches, conditions and directions for improving this process in the context of modern requirements for the training of scientific personnel. Based on the analysis of regulatory documents, scientific and pedagogical sources, the concept of "academic culture" is defined as a set of values (honesty, trust, respect, responsibility) that are developed through educational and scientific programs, active teaching methods, and monitoring of the quality of education. The analysis of educational and research programs, educational and methodological support for the training of PhD applicants at SumSPU, self-assessment reports, reports on the results of accreditation examination of educational programs, observation of the educational process, personal experience of teaching and participation as a teacher of disciplines of the general block of educational and research programs in the field of education are briefly presented. It is shown that the team of the university's project groups has developed a comprehensive model for training future doctors of philosophy, and in wartime, the university adapted by using blended learning, arranging protective shelters, and providing psychological support. The article describes the Quality Agents project, which provides regular monitoring through anonymous surveys and shows an increase in the awareness of ethical standards among graduate students. The model for the development of the academic culture of PhD students is described, which involves the combination of specialized courses "Ethics of Scientific Research", "Academic Foreign Language", "Modern Information Technologies in Scientific Research", "Methodological Foundations of Scientific Research" and "Research Project Management" in a common block of disciplines, which, taking into account the use of problematic, search, project and dialogic methods, guest lectures, scientific forums and trainings, are aimed at developing ethical, digital and communication competencies.
