SCIENTIFIC CLUB AS A MEANS OF FORMING RESEARCH SKILLS OF FUTURE BIOLOGY TEACHERS

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of forming research skills in students during the work of a biological scientific club. Research skills are one of the key competencies of a future biology teacher. They allow the teacher to plan and conduct research independently, as well as to use their results effectively in the educational process. A scientific club is an effective means of developing the research skills of future biology teachers. It allows students to gain practical skills in conducting research, as well as develop critical thinking, creativity, and independence.

The article explores the possibilities of biology club work for the development of students' research skills. The experience of the "Biological Experiment at School" club is described and three components of research activities performed by students within the club are distinguished: search, informational and effective. It is emphasized that research activity contributes to the development of critical thinking, creativity, independence and other important personal qualities in students. The article emphasizes that the scientific club plays an important role in the development of research competencies of future biology teachers. Through participation in it, students get the opportunity to: Master the skills of formulating research questions and hypotheses: this process teaches future teachers to clearly define the research topic and make reasonable assumptions about the results. To get acquainted with the methods of scientific research: the club provides students with knowledge of various research methods, such as experiment, observation, survey, literature analysis, etc. Learn how to collect and analyze scientific data: this stage of research involves mastering the skills of working with laboratory equipment, statistical methods, and data analysis tools. Mastering the art of presenting research results: the ability to clearly and concisely communicate your findings to the audience is an important competency for any teacher.
