FORMATION OF ABILITIES AND SKILLS OF SPEAKING IN UKRAINIAN IN THE PROCESS OF PUBLIC BROADCASTING RECIPIENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The article highlights the urgent problem of forming the abilities and skills of correct speaking in Ukrainian of students of non-philology, caused by the gaps in the methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language in higher education institutions and the social needs of an active linguistic personality's preparation through the requirements of modern society. The method of forming skills of correct speaking in Ukrainian for students of higher education institutions is proposed, which is provided by knowledge of language norms, rules of text creation, and speaking skills in different communication situations during the production of public statements. The attention is focused on improving language norms (orthoepic, accentual, lexical, word-formation, grammatical, stylistic) necessary for developing speaking skills in public (monologue, dialogue, polylogue) and expressing the speaker's thoughts. The ways of familiarizing students with the textual features and practical skills of forming the abilities and skills of producing statements that speakers should master when creating a monologue text and interlocutors of dialogic (polylogic) communication, which positively affect the quality of speaking of higher education students, are indicated. The barriers to quality communication are incorrect listening and understanding of what the partner has heard, misunderstanding of the purpose and tasks of speaking, predictable results, the subject of communication, etc. The system of exercises is proposed to develop speaking skills in studying the Ukrainian language for the professional purpose of non-philology students. The system of exercises for forming speaking skills aims to improve the skills of producing monologue dialogic (polylogic) speech. The main ones are linguistic and speech exercises (aimed at enhancing language norms in producing speaking), conditional speech exercises, and actual speech exercises aimed at producing speaking while creating public texts.
