USING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN THE PROCESS OF FORMING SKILLS OF INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS

Abstract

This article explores the use of information technologies in the process of developing skills of independent educational activity. The use of modern technologies in education opens up many opportunities for improving the efficiency of education and developing students' independence. The article highlights the role of information technology in providing access to educational material and expanding the information space. Thanks to computers, tablets, smartphones and the Internet, students can quickly find the information they need, research various sources, communicate with experts in the field and receive independent assessments of their knowledge. The use of modern educational technologies contributes to the comprehensive renewal of the higher education process, as IT tools are partially activated when using a wide range of innovative pedagogical technologies and act as tools for traditional teaching.  Modern software can act as a filter that expands a person's ability to think. Since the formation of intellectual capital depends on the qualitative growth of knowledge, modern higher education is designed not only to transfer knowledge, but also to teach how to process and accumulate it, construct new knowledge, and perform a kind of "engineering" function in relation to the latest information. The use of information technologies contributes to the development of critical thinking skills, as it requires critical evaluation of information sources, search for alternative solutions and creative approach to solving problems. The final conclusions of the article emphasise that the use of information technologies in the process of developing skills of independent educational activity is an integral part of successful education in the modern world. They contribute to the development of independence, increase motivation to learn and have a positive impact on the academic achievements of higher education students. The experience of using information technologies in educational processes shows their great potential for improving education in the future.
