The article analyzes the features of the formation of social competence of future physical education teachers in the context of updating the system of pedagogical education and strengthening the competence-based foundations of professional training. The relevance of the issue is determined by society’s need for specialists in the health and physical education field who are capable of establishing effective communication with all participants in the educational process, maintaining a favorable interaction climate, and creating conditions for the comprehensive personal development of students. It has been found that the social competence of a physical education teacher is a multidimensional professional characteristic that includes value-motivational, communicative, activity-based, and reflective components. The level of its development determines the ability of future specialists to interact effectively with others, make well-considered decisions in complex social situations, organize cooperation, and build partnership-based relationships within the educational environment. The study substantiates a set of pedagogical factors that ensure positive dynamics in the formation of social competence of future physical education teachers. These include the creation of a humanistic-oriented and psychologically safe educational environment in higher education institutions; active implementation of interactive teaching methods, training-based forms of work, and practice-oriented learning; involving students in solving and discussing professionally significant situations during their pedagogical training; developing value orientations toward cooperation and pedagogical partnership; and improving reflective mechanisms of professional self-awareness and self-development. It has been proven that the effectiveness of this process is largely determined by the synergistic interconnection of theoretical learning, acquisition of practical experience, and reflection on one’s own professional activity. The implementation of the outlined pedagogical conditions contributes to the development of socially significant skills, professionally important personal qualities of future physical education teachers, and enhances their readiness for successful performance in the modern educational environment.
